BENTSON, Eric George

Passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at the age of 83 at Sault Area Hospital surrounded with love. He leaves a 57 year journey of life and love with his wife Lois (Buchanan) who will miss him dearly. Still in his pocket and forever close to his heart are his daughters Laurie (Norman), Heather and Rhonda (John). His beloved grandchildren Justin, Melissa, Brandon, Brianna, Brooklyn and Sheridan adored their Papa. Born in Nakina, Ontario, the son of the late Sanfred and Anna Maria Bentson. Survived by his "favourite" sister Ella and "brother" Ed and predeceased by his brother Arthur (Pat). A lifelong resident of Sault Ste. Marie where he adopted the Buchanan clan as his own. He will be missed by his sister-in-laws Diane (Sid) and Coyla (Chuck).  Predeceased by Clifton, Mary and Duane (Gwen) Buchanan. George lived a life rich with the love of his family, friends and his church. Friends may visit at the St. Andrew’s United Church on Friday, February 3, 2017 from 12 pm until time of funeral service at 2 pm. Rev. Phil Miller officiating. Interment Greenwood Cemetery.
