Bilodeau, Suzanne

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Suzanne Bilodeau (née Gareau) at the North Shore Health Network in Blind River on Wednesday May 10, 2017 at the age of 66. Beloved wife of Georges W. Bilodeau of the Municipality of Huron Shores. Loving mother of Jacqueline Bilodeau (late David Prince) and Roger Bilodeau (Liliana Camposeo). Dear grandmother of Cassandra Bilodeau-Levesque,  Jonathan Prince, Mathew Bilodeau, Lucas Bilodeau, Adriano Bilodeau and great grandmother of Zavier Dicken, Kaydance Ménard . Also survived by sisters Genevieve Mikkola (Jack) of Elliot Lake, Joyce Cormier of Sudbury, Claudette McMillan (Gordon) of Nova Scotia and pre-deceased by sisters Joanne O’Neil, Inez Phillion and brother Reginald Gareau. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Suzanne’s greatest joy was to be able to sing for many organizations such as the St. James The Greater Church in Blind River and the barbershop groups in Elliot Lake. There, she was able to show the range of her voice in the chorus, quartet and even as a soloist. Suzanne loved to knit, crochet, paint and sew. This was often done in order to give her crafts to her friends and relatives. In her last few years, she had developed an affinity in collecting angels for all seasons. In her last months, she would speak of becoming an angel and be there for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service, followed by interment will be held at a later date in the Cobalt area. Memorial contributions to the North Shore Health Network (Palliative Care Unit) or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Elliot Lake Funeral Chapel & Cremation Centre (36 Ontario Ave). Online condolences to Suzanne’s family may be made at www.elliotlakefuneralchapel.com.
