Peacefully, surrounded by love, at the F.J. Davey Home on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at the age of 84.

Beloved wife of the late Keith Birkinshaw. Loving mother of Wendy Malo (Stéphane), Gordon (Ariel) and Lorna Masters (Greg). Cherished grandmother of Nathaniel Birkinshaw (Shaunessee), Michael Malo, Georgia Birkinshaw and Chelsea Birkinshaw. Daughter of the late Gordon and Hilda Hanley. Daughter-in-law of the late Louisa and the late Edward Birkinshaw (late Joan). Sister of the late Christina Hanley and late Phyllis Ross (late Cragg).

Mom was a dedicated member of the Anglican Church, participating in multiple congregations in Sault Ste. Marie. Mom loved music, a gift she shared with many as the organist at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, a parish that held a special place in her life. A high school teacher for many years and a Registered Professional Dietitian thereafter, she excelled in her careers of choice. Throughout her life, Mom loved to garden and had many flowers throughout her yard. Never one to do nothing, Mom’s hands were often busy with crocheting, sewing and quilting. In retirement, Mom travelled the world with Dad and her sister Christina, laughing their way through many adventures. What we will remember most about Mom is her love of her family, her dedication to her children and grandchildren, her love of laughter and her love for God.

A special thank you to the staff of the F.J. Davey Home on Cedar 2 for their exceptional care over the last few years.
