It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Rosaire Laurier Bourgoin on May 14th 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
As the last of his 16 siblings to pass, we find comfort in knowing he was warmly welcomed into his heavenly home.
Rosaire was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and cherished friend. His heart belonged first and foremost to his beloved wife, Yolande Bourgoin, with whom he shared 66 years of deep enduring love. Together they built a life full of warmth, laughter, and cherished memories.
Rosaire’s greatest joy came from time spent with his family. His eyes would light up at the sight of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and his gentle, kind spirit was a constant presence in their lives. He had an unwavering devotion to those he loved, always putting family first.
A man of simple pleasures and deep faith, Rosaire found peace in nature and in his relationship with God. He spent countless happy hours tending to his greenhouse and garden, nurturing each plant with the same care and patience he gave to those around him. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, happiest with a rod in hand or walking through the woods.
Rosaire was also a storyteller, always eager to share a laugh over tales of youthful mischief with his brothers. His stories brought joy and connection to every gathering, preserving memories that will live on for generations.
Known for his kindness, warmth, and gentle strength, Rosaire was a man who gave more than he took and loved without condition. His life was a testament to faith, family, and the beauty of simple joys.
He will be deeply missed by his loving children Rosanne (André), Pauline (Louis), Daniel, Marc (Luisa), followed by his 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by his large extended family and friends.
A memorial service will take place at Paroisse Sainte-Marie-Du-Sault (847 Trunk Rd, Sault Ste. Marie) on Saturday May 24, 2025 at 11:00 am. All are welcome to join us to gather in the back hall following the service. Rosaire’s legacy of love and laughter will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
A huge thank you to the staff of Maple View who exceeded our expectations of compassionate care and unconditional love in the short time he resided there. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East 705-759-2522).
