It is with profound sadness that the family of Gary Wayne Calvert announces his passing on Monday, January 14, 2019 at the Sault Area Hospital at the age of 78. Beloved husband of Helen for over 55 years. Loving father of Don (Cathy) and Dave (Tamara). Proud grandfather of Crystle and Brittany, Sara and Rachel (Devon Montgomery). Great grandfather of Caiden. Dear brother of the late Jack (late Rita), late Bill and late Robert (Marion). Brother-in-law of Doug Cameron (Sharlene) and Karen Deluco (Ted). Gary will also be missed by his nieces and nephews. Special neighbor to Lyne Gagnon. Gary was happiest at his camp at Upper Island Lake. He was also a loyal fan of the Soo Greyhounds for many years and was the director of the Sunshine Travel Club, enjoying numerous trips through Canada and the US. Friends are invited to visit at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522) on Thursday, January 24, 2019 from 6 pm to 8 pm. Funeral service to be held in the chapel on Friday, January 25, 2019 at 11 am. The Rev. Laurie Milito officiating. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
