CAMERON, James Gordon 'Jim', 'Jimmie'

It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Jim Cameron at his residence in Dayton, ON on June 5, 2016. Loving husband and life partner for 44 years of Janice Cameron (nee Miller) of Thessalon.  Cherished father of Heather Hoffmann (Shane) of St. Joseph Island, Jamie Cameron (Natalie) of Sault Ste. Marie and grandfather of Harry Hoffmann, Aeva Goodship-Cameron and Sophia Cameron.  He is pre-deceased by his parents Peter and Edith (nee Gordon) Cameron and is survived by his siblings Gerald (Sue), Dale (June) and George (Gladys).  Fondly remembered by his sister in law Maureen “Marnie” Martin (late Donald) and survived by numerous nieces, one nephew and many great nieces and nephews.  A treasured part of Jim’s life were his feline companions Gloria and Dude.  Jimmie will be forever remembered for his quick wit, quirky sense of humor, his absolute love of country music and guitar playing.  Not to be overlooked were his oil paintings, mechanical and woodworking capabilities as well as a renewed love of curling with the seniors in Thessalon.  A memorial gathering will be held at the Beggs Funeral Home in Thessalon on Friday, June 10 from 7-9 pm with eulogies and remembering at 8:00 pm.  Memorial contributions to the Thessalon Commmunity Curling Club or the Cancer Society Glioblastoma Research.  Expressions of sympathy to the Cameron family may be made at www.beggsfh.com.
