March 8, 1933 - June 29, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Angelo, who died peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital at the age of 92.

Beloved husband of 62 years, to Sandra Cavicchiolo. Loving father of Dan Cavicchiolo (Robin), and his daughters Chelsea and Courtney; and Nancy Watts (Curt), and her sons Matt (Jessica) and Spencer. Great-grandfather to Emery Cavicchiolo.

Angelo was the son of the late Gina and Giuseppe Cavicchiolo. He is survived by his brothers Albert "Berto" Cavicchiolo and Gino Cavicchiolo, his brother-in-law Jack Reed (Shirley), and many nieces and nephews who knew him as a cherished uncle. He was predeceased by his sisters Vera O’Connor and Gloria Arcangeletti, and by his sisters-in-law Elaine Comrie and Wanda Boyer.

Angelo was a man of deep faith, devoted to the Lord and to his family. He was a constant presence at his children’s and grandchildren’s games and events, always showing up with love and encouragement. He showed his love by always being there—reliable, encouraging, and fully present. He loved learning and playing his saxophone, and his passion for cooking classic Italian meals—especially his homemade gnocchi, wine and signature tie plates—was well known and enjoyed by all who gathered around his table. He especially loved having his family together and, with his wife Sandy, hosted memorable Labour Day parties. The Titanic submarine sandwich he prepared will go down in family history.

He was a hard worker who retired from the water treatment plant, but never stopped working on projects around the house. Angelo enjoyed golfing, walking, and staying active in his day-to-day life. He also loved watching the Toronto Blue Jays on TV. In his downtime, he liked playing bocci in the backyard, and spending time with family over games of crib, UNO, and rumoli. He was a longtime member of Precious Blood Cathedral.

Visitation will be held at Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East 705-759-2522) on Thursday, July 3, 2025 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. at Precious Blood Cathedral. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery immediately following the service. Donations in Angelo’s memory (payable by cheque or online) to Alzheimer Society.

The family would like to express sincere thanks to the lovely people at the Alzheimer Society, and to the compassionate PSWs, nurses, paramedics, and doctors at the Sault Area Hospital for their care and support. Special thanks as well to dear friends Anna and Leslie for their love, kindness, and support during this time. Angelo was also blessed with some of the best neighbours—Peter and Karen, Marty and Nelda, Susan, and Helen—whose friendship and care over the years meant so much.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. We hold on to the hope of reuniting with him in heaven.
