CLOUTHIER, Joseph Erwine 'Chum'

Went to be with his beloved wife Catherine (nee Devlin) and his dog, Toby, on Monday, March 21, 2016.  Predeceased by his parents Henry and Mary Ellen Clouthier.  Dear brother of Ellen Catanzanite (late Joseph) of California, Patricia Armstrong (late Bill), Ramona Berry (late Gerry) of Peterborough.  Predeceased by Edward (late Daisy), Patrick, Burt, Leila Clouthier and Priscilla Vezeau.  Predeceased by Brother-in-law Thomas Devlin (late Murial), and Sisters-in-law Mary Redmond (late John), Helen O’Grady (late William), and Margaret Emms (late James).  Special thank you to Jacque and Lou for their many years of friendship.  Chum will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.  Chum was born in Petawawa on November 7, 1928.  His family moved to Sudbury and then in the 1940’s moved to Sault Ste. Marie.  He started working at the age of 14, to help his family out.  He became extremely skilled as a welder and spent over 30 years with A.B. McLean. Chum was a lifetime member of the Elks of Canada. He also had an artistic side to his welding and came up with many different accessories for the home and cottage. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed his travels across the river to golf with friends and family.  In respecting Chum’s wishes cremation has taken place and no funeral service will be held.  Memorial contributions to TAAG, SAH Cancer Care Fund or Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated.  (Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre 705-759-2522).  Expressions of sympathy may be offered at www.arthurfuneralhome.com
