It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Willis James Coleman in his 72nd year on March 2nd 2025 at the Peter Lougheed Centre in Calgary, Alberta with loved ones by his side.
Son of the late Dorothy Wilcox and the late Ron Coleman. Loving brother to Charlie Coleman, John Wilcox, Cliff Wilcox, Carla Laidley, Pete Marshall, the late Kenny Coleman, and the late Hilton Hall. Uncle to Amber Laidley, DJ Laidley, Jordan Hall, Michael Mathieu, and many other niece's and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews.
Originally from Sault Ste Marie, Ontario where he was known for driving for Modern cab for many years and always spending time with his brothers and sister. Willis was always a wanderer though and loved to travel, he ended up out in Calgary, Alberta in the early 2000's. That's where he spent the rest of his time on earth enjoying the moutain views with his partner in crime and forever soul bestie Penny Willison, whom will miss him dearly. During his adventures in life out west, he made some new friends and they became like family to him. Willis will be greatly missed by his best friend whom he loved like a brother John Miller, his coworker Iain Hinton and his wife Dawn Gallicano, his neighbour Lan Nguyen, his good friend Joe Nunes. Willis was also a father figure and mentor to Dan Leadley.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Kids Cancer Care of Alberta is greatly appreciated.
A celebration of life will be held in his hometown of Sault Ste Marie, Ontario at a later date.
