CONNORS, Michael J. - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Michael at the Sault Area Hospital on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 in his 68th year. Mike will be missed dearly by his wife of 17 years, Mary Lou Kennedy, his children Melissa (Sam), Michael (Kelsey), Logan, Riley (Caleb), his mother-in-law Esther Finn, and his sisters-in-law Deb (Bill), Dona (Blair), and Carleen. He leaves behind his grandchildren Samuel, Wyatt, Ava and Clara, and his dog, Mr. Pickles. Predeceased by his parents Julius and Mollie Csikasz, and father-in-law Stan Finn.
Originally from Niagara Falls, Ontario, Mike moved to Bruce Mines in 2000 with his three dogs - Samantha, Ruby and Lillian. He lived there until he met his wife-to-be, Mary Lou, and then relocated to Sault Ste. Marie. A mechanic by trade, Mike worked with cars his whole life and will miss his Canadian Tire Gas Bar family dearly. He was an animal lover through and through, and often talked about the day he would be reunited with all of his dogs - Samantha, Ruby, Lillian, Shadow, Sandy, Maggie, Koda, Rudy, and Baby Girl. Mike also loved the Buffalo Bills and was a season ticket holder for many years, going with his son Mikey to many games. Not to be forgotten, Mike’s first love in life was The Beatles, honouring them with a tattoo of the Abbey Road album cover a few years ago.
A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society or Northern Critters In Need would be greatly appreciated by the family.
