Joseph B. Daigle , 76, of Bay Mills, Michigan passed away peacefully on Saturday September 17, 2016 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey, Michigan. He was surrounded by his family at his time of passing. Joe is survived by his wife of 40 years, Eileen who loved him endlessly. He is also survived by three sons Eric (Sharon) of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario; John (Sue) of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario; Maurice (Trish) of Ishpeming and two daughters Jodi Lynn (Corey) of Bay Mills and Cheryl; a daughter-in-law Lisa Neveau of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Joe is also survived by two brothers John and Harris Daigle both of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario; five sisters Frances of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and Agnes, Carolyn, Janet, Betty Ann of Toronto. 19 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren who were always around Joe and he loved them dearly. Joe was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, worked at Algoma Steel Plant, and loved working as a commercial fisherman. He worked as a shuttle bus drive for Kings Club Casino, where he met numerous people and made lifelong friendships with many. He will be remembered for turning on his country music and telling people about the area and his stories of “the good ole days”. Joe is also survived by and loved dearly by his extended family of in-laws here from Bay Mills. Amelia LeBlanc and her kids and their kids who will remember “Uncle Joe” and numerous nephews and nieces from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. He is predeceased by his parents James and Elizabeth, a son Joey, three brothers and four sisters and his father-in-law Big Abe.
Visitation will be held 7:00pm until 9:00pm Tuesday September 20, 2016 at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church with parish prayers at 8:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00are Wednesday September 21, 2016 at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church with Father Joseph Boakye-Yiadom as Celebrant.
