Died peacefully at home on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at the age of 83 after a short illness. Ken is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Joan (née Kenshol) and by his children Jennifer (Roy Iachetta) and Kevin (Laura Smith). He was predeceased by his parents Louis Dorse and Laura Dorse (née Salmon) and his sister Barbara Nahls. A life-long resident of Sault Ste. Marie, Ken was among the very first photographers hired by the Sault Star in 1954. For over four decades he documented the life of our community from modest street hockey games to the pageantry of the 1959 visit of Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh. Through his work, Ken knew and was known by a great many in the community. Among his fondest pursuits was leisure time at the family’s camp on St. Joseph Island. A private interment will be held. Memorial contributions to ARCH Hospice would be welcomed. (Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre 705-759-2522).
