ELLIS, Verna

After a lengthy illness and courageous battles, Verna M. Ellis of Echo River left us to be with her beloved George (Buck) on May 2, 2017. Verna was the daughter of the late Flora and William Hill of Sault Ste. Marie. Survived by her sister Freida Dupuis of Calgary, Alberta. Predeceased by her sisters and brothers Delbert (Madge), Howard (Dorothy), Norman (Leona), Russell (Fran), Pearl (Wilfred) and Ethel (Gordon). Also survived by many nieces, nephews, God children and many extended family members. Verna was well known for her hospitality in her home on Echo River. She loved to cook and entertain. She was always free spirited and full of life to the end. Verna loved the outdoors and all that life offered. Friends are invited to visit the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Friday, May 5, 2017 from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm. Funeral service will follow in the chapel at 1 pm. Rev. Hugh Hamilton officiating. Interment to take place at West Korah Cemetery. Memorial contributions to Echo Bay Volunteer Fire Department would be greatly appreciated by the family.
