It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the peaceful passing of Mirella, with her family by her side at the Sault Area Hospital on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at the age of 83. Beloved wife of Settimio for 63 years. Devoted mother of Gina Walz (Derek). Very special and cherished Nanna to “her boys” Adam Walz (Kelly) and Paul Walz (Jacqueline). Her greatest treasures were her great grandchildren Ava and Ethan Walz and the newest great grand baby arriving in July. Predeceased by her parents Antonio and Carmella Medaglia, brothers Ottorino, Eugenio, Ernesto, Frank (Francis) and sister Maria. Survived by her siblings Ida Chiarello (late Frank), Sam Medaglia (Mariolina) and Fiorina Spadafora (Frank). Sister-in-law of the late Paulino Falcone (Elvira) of Ottawa, late Peter, Jackamo, Diana, Isabella and Maria all of Italy. She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and extended family. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Mirella’s niece, Toni Uschenko for the countless hours she spent by Mirella’s bedside.
Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Gregory’s Church (71 Estelle Street) at 1:00 p.m. with Father Trevor Scarfone officiating. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations to St. Gregory’s Church would be greatly appreciated.
