It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved mother and grandmother. She went to meet her Saviour, peacefully and surrounded by family, on Monday, December 11th, 2017. She was in her 93rd year. Ida lived her life in service to the Lord and to her family. Beloved wife of the late Frank Fioravanti. She was greatly loved and will be dearly missed by her children and grandchildren: her son Walter and his wife Michelle, her daughter Mary Ellen Perlini and her husband Jim, her grandchildren, Leanne (Steve), Philip (Kathryn), Jacqueline (Jared), Mark (Rebecca), Kevin and Erika and her great grandchildren, Claire, Alexandre and Nicolas. Ida was born in Italy near the town of Porto San Giorgio to Nazzareno Moretti and Maria De Angelis. Her parents and her only sibling, Dina Marilungo, predeceased her but she will be remembered there by her many nieces and nephews. When she emigrated to Canada she was welcomed into the Capancioni family, by brothers Essi and the late Elmo, and by sisters Edna Sartor and the late Lyda Muscatello and the late Elia Schiratti, all of whom, along with their spouses and children, adopted her as a sister and aunt respectively. Ida was a strong and courageous woman who encountered life’s challenges with quiet dignity and fortitude. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and will be greatly missed. Friends and family are invited to visit at the Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road) on Friday, December 15th, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. Funeral mass to follow at St. Gerard Majella Church at 1:00 pm. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial donations to either the Sault Area Hospital Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by her family. Special thanks to the amazing staff of the Maple View Nursing Home, all of whom showed such great love and compassion towards her and her family over the past year. And special thanks as well to her close friends who enriched her life right up to the end.
