Unexpectedly at the Sault Area Hospital on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at the age of 53. 

Loving husband of Amy Frayn. Cherished father of Tyler, Easton and Riker. Step father of Troy Woolley. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Brenda Frayn. Youngest sibling of Todd (Christine), Troy (Robin) and Tricia Holden (Rob). Son-in-law of Michael and Carol Piper. Brother-in-law of Keith Piper (Robin) and Jodi Peters (Cory). Uncle Bobby to Danielle (Colin), Allison (Paul), Anthony, Nicholas, Caden, Mikayla, Colton, Gage, Piper and Brock. Robert will be missed by many extended family, friends and coworkers. 

Rob was an exceptional athlete from a young age, excelling in sports throughout school. His talent on the ice led him to a remarkable career in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), where he played for several teams, including North Bay, Belleville, Kitchener, and Windsor. Throughout his OHL career, Rob was known for his dedication, skill, and fierce competitiveness, making his mark in each city he played. His time with the Kitchener Rangers was particularly special, where his hard work and love for the game inspired both teammates and fans alike.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the sport, Rob was inducted into the Kitchener Hockey Hall of Fame, a testament to his skill, commitment, and legacy in the game of hockey. His achievements on and off the ice continue to be celebrated by those who knew him.

Beyond his time on the ice, Rob was a compassionate and caring person, with a sharp sense of humor, a heart full of generosity, and an unwavering dedication to his family. He was a devoted husband and a loving father who cherished every moment with his sons. Rob’s love for animals was also a defining part of his character, and he was known for his kindness toward all living creatures. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, teammates, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Family and friends are welcome to the Arthur Funeral Home –Barton and Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E, 705-759-2522) on Thursday, April 3, 2025 from 5 pm – 8 pm for a time of visitation. Service to take place on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 11 am at the Funeral Home with Rev. Helen Smith Officiating. Cremation to follow.
