Passed away peacefully in her sleep 2 weeks shy of her 99th birthday at home in Ottawa on January 18, 2021. Funeral mass was held in Ottawa on January 21, 2021 presided by Father Gerard Plant. Interment was held in Sault Ste. Marie on Monday January 25, 2021 at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery presided over by Father Paul Conway. Sally now joins her husband Vaclovas (Walter) who passed in 2007.
Sally is survived by her daughters Aida Hayes (Bryan) and Clara Deksnys (Kasey) as well as her grandsons Kevin (Chantal) and Brandyn (Emilie) Hayes as well as her great grandson Gabriel. She and Walter were instrumental in helping raise their grandchildren in Sault Ste. Marie. Her meals were the best and will be remembered forever.
Sally immigrated to Canada from Lithuania in 1951 and her and Walter made their way to Sault Ste. Marie in 1953. She was proof that hard work, selflessness and honesty are instrumental in living a successful life. She was never idle except in recent years as she began to tire. While she loved to cook and garden, her greatest passion was prayer and she was dedicated to reading the bible and praying the Rosary. She had a very special relationship with Jesus and Mary, with whom she is now eternally joined.  We will miss her immensely but we know she is finally home and is enjoying eternal peace.
The family would like to extend thanks to Bernard and Judy Laysiak and Mary Brown who were special friends to Sally in her later years. Memorial contributions to the Cross on the Hill would be appreciated.
Funeral arrangements entrusted into the care of Capital Funeral Home and Cemetery, Ottawa. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.capitalmemorial.ca.
