GOULD, Phyllis Mary (nee Joynt)

Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, January 24, 2016 in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Dr. Alton A. Gould for over 63 years. Loving mother of the late Ann Gould, Gail Gould Storey (Marty), Robert Gould (Sherry Roe-Gould), and Sandra Gould Holloway (Dennis). GranMomma of Tracey Storey Ohm (John), Sara Storey Brown (Patrick), Rebecca Story Calleja (Vic), John and Ryan Gould, D.J. and Tarah Holloway. Great GranMomma to Tessa Calleja and Lily Brown. Phyllis will be sadly missed by her siblings Russell Joynt (Joan) and Lois Favro (late Bob). She was predeceased by her parents Ormand and Gertrude Joynt and her sisters Carol Joynt and Norma Niblock (Clarence). Remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Phyllis practiced for many years as an accomplished and caring registered nurse in the United States and Canada. She followed God’s calling, and her love for Alton, as a missionary to Hong Kong. There she raised her four children and created a loving home environment for servicemen, children and her family. After living in Hong Kong and the Philippines for many years, she and Alton returned to Indiana and then Ontario, retiring to Sault Ste. Marie.  Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 1 – 2:30 pm followed by the funeral service in the chapel at 3 pm. Pastor John Gunn officiating. Burial will follow in the early summer in Renfrew, Ontario. Memorial contributions to Teen Challenge North would be appreciated by the family.
