Passed away suddenly but peacefully on Saturday, January 6, 2024, in her 86th year.
Born Rachel Rhéa Aurore Gosselin in St Charles, Ontario to Antoine Gosselin and Gracia Robidoux, she married young to Fernand Gour and moved to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario where they established a home and raised an active growing family with three rambunctious boys, Pierre, André, and Denis. They quickly became a vital part of the community by attending St. Ignace Parish. Ahead of her time, Rachel led a rich and fulfilling life working full time while managing a family and vital household. If cleanliness is next to godliness - Rachel is first in line. With a good sense of humor, she led by example and instilled the value of a lifelong work ethic. She was also a gourmand, appreciating culinary adventures from holiday baking to more recently enjoying a simple meal out with Fortunat and family. Always appreciating the finer things in life, she made a comfortable and welcoming home. Strong willed and focused she recouped after the loss of Fernand (1997) and shared the latter part of her life together with her devoted husband Fortunat Jalbert.
Predeceased by her husband Fernand Gour. Loving wife of Fortunat Jalbert. Cherished mother of Pierre Amundson Gour (Garth), Andre Gour (Dina) and the late Denis Gour. Treasured stepmother of Guylaine Jalbert, Lisa Beaulieu (Ron), Frank Jalbert (Kim) and Alain Jalbert (Dawna). Dear grandmother of Nicole Gour (Eric) and Danielle Gour Kao (Dan), Tahnee and Emily and great grandmother to Jaiden, Parker and Olive-Lee. She will be missed by her siblings Martial Gosselin (Cloudia predeceased), Valmont Gosselin (Alberte), Muriel Kirwan (Terry), and Gisèle Gosselin (late John) as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Mom was a beautiful, loving, kind, respectful, and hard-working soul, loved by everyone she met. Rest in peace Mother, you're forever in our hearts, from whomever you touched. Heaven has gained a true angel.

Née Rachel Rhéa Aurore Gosselin à St Charles, en Ontario, d'Antoine Gosselin et de Gracia Robidoux, elle s'est mariée jeune à Fernand Gour et a déménagé à Sault Ste Marie, en Ontario, où ils ont établi une maison et élevé une famille active et grandissante avec trois garçons turbulents, Pierre, André, et Denis. Ils sont rapidement devenus un élément essentiel de la communauté en fréquentant la paroisse Saint-Ignace. À la tête de son temps, Rachel a mené une vie riche et épanouissante en travaillant à temps plein tout en gérant une famille et un foyer vital. Si la propreté est à côté de la piété, Rachel est en première ligne. Avec un bon sens de l'humour, elle a montré l'exemple et a inculqué la valeur d'une éthique de travail permanente. Elle était également une gourmande, appréciant les aventures culinaires, depuis la pâtisserie des Fêtes jusqu'à, plus récemment, un repas simple avec Fortunat et sa famille. Appréciant toujours les belles choses de la vie, elle s'est fait une maison confortable et accueillante. Forte de volonté et concentrée, elle s'est rétablie après la perte de Fernand (1997) et a partagé la dernière partie de sa vie avec son mari dévoué Fortunat Jalbert.
Prédécédée par son époux Fernand Gour. Épouse bien-aimée de Fortunat Jalbert. Mère bien-aimée de Pierre Amundson Gour (Garth), André Gour (Dina) et de feu Denis Gour. Belle-mère chérie de Guylaine Jalbert, Lisa Beaulieu (Ron), Frank Jalbert (Kim) et Alain Jalbert (Dawna). Chère grand-mère de Nicole Gour (Eric) et Danielle Gour Kao (Dan), Tahnee et Emily et arrière-grand-mère de Jaiden, Parker et Olive-Lee. Elle laisse dans le deuil ses frères et sœurs Martial Gosselin (prédécédée Cloudia), Valmont Gosselin (Alberte), Muriel Kirwan (Terry) et Gisèle Gosselin (prédécédée John) ainsi que plusieurs nièces, neveux et famille élargie.
Maman était une âme belle, aimante, gentille, respectueuse et travailleuse, aimée de tous ceux qu'elle rencontrait. Repose en paix Mère, tu es pour toujours dans nos cœurs, de la part de ceux que tu as touchés. Le ciel a gagné un véritable ange.
À votre demande, il n’y aura aucune visite ni service. Un don commémoratif fait à la Fondation des maladies du cœur serait apprécié par la famille.
