April 26, 1919 to August 27, 2024

Frances passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024 in her 106th year.

Daughter of the late Mabel and William Grasley. Frances was predeceased by her siblings and their spouses, Maynard & Lillian, Helen & Dan Wall, Bernard & Cora and Doreen White. Loving Aunt of the late Gerald & Irene Grasley, Lynne & the late Allan Schofield, Shelley Grasley, Joyce & Grant Sonmor, Gwen & the late Don Baillie, Lloyd & Heather Wall, Bernice & Don Price, James & Donna Grasley, John & Joyce Grasley, Richard & Sharon Grasley, Gail & the late David Holmberg, Lois & Jack Charron, Marie & the late Ray Hietakangas, Cheryle & the late Victor Finn and many great nieces, nephews and cousins.

Frances was born at the end of WW1, walked or skied to a one room schoolhouse, lived through the Great Depression of the 1930's, filled the void through WW2 in normally male dominated jobs, cooked and then nursed at the Isolation Hospital for TB in Fort William, now Thunder Bay, retired after 25 years of nursing at the Sault General Hospital while she looked after her aging parents. In her retirement, she travelled extensively with her sister Helen and enjoyed time with friends and family.

We would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Great Northern Retirement Home for the great care they gave Frances during her stay with them. 

Extra special thank you to Cheryle and Shelley for the love and care they gave Aunt Fran over the years and all the great adventures they took her on.

Friends and family are invited to visit at Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East 705-759-2522) on Friday, August 30, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 2:45 pm, service to follow at 3:00 pm, officiated by Rev. Helen Smith.

Friends and family are also invited to view the service online at www.funeraweb.tv and select Frances' name. The service can be viewed on the service day and anytime from then on up to 90 days. Interment Greenwood Cemetery.
