November 14, 1929 - June 28, 2017 — Peggy passed away peacefully at the Lakeridge Oshawa Hospital on Wednesday June 28, 2017, surrounded by her family; daughter Susie McCarty (Kevin), grand-daughters Shannon Sinclair (Adam), Sarah and Katie, and much loved great grandson Jackson. Peggy was predeceased in 2013 by her partner in life and love George. Peggy was a force to be reckoned with in her beloved hometown of Sault Ste. Marie. She grew up in the Sault and took great pride in knowing details about people they didn’t even know about themselves or their lineage! She was a remarkable homemaker and devoted her extra time to volunteering in the community. Her attention to detail was greatly appreciated by the Maycourt Club, the Community Services Board, ARC Industries, and her greatest passion the Searchmont Ski Runners. We’re sure there is not a past racer at Searchmont who hasn’t been “lovingly” ordered out of race headquarters by “the Chief Race Secretary”! Peggy’s kind heart and generosity will be greatly missed and forever cherished by all who knew her.
A celebration of life will take place Thursday July 27, 2017 2-4 pm at Crimson Ridge G.C. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. The family would like to send their deepest thanks to the Lakeridge Oshawa Hospital especially the devoted staff on the Stroke Recovery floor and Karen & Jody (Soby) our Sault connection on the Palliative Care floor.
