Diagnosed on the 13th of May, 2015, with ALS, succumbed to the disease on Thursday, September 8th, 2016 at home surrounded by family and friends at the age of 52.  Loving husband of Melanie Hall (nee Menard) of Blind River, father of Julia Hall (Mike Nazarov) of Ottawa and David Hall of Blind River, and grandfather to his favourite grandson Alexei Carman Isadore Nazarov.  Dear son of Lyle and Roberta Hall of London, Ontario, brother of Ross Hall (Kendell) of Thorndale, step brother to Garry Hall (Betty) and Susan Reid (Stephen).  Andrew is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces as well as brothers and sisters in law.  After being “voluntold” by the Ontario Provincial Police that his first posting would be Blind River, he arrived in town June 8th, 1987, and never left.  He always accepted his duties with professionalism, compassion and humour, never saying no to his fellow brothers and sisters on the force.  The OPP became another family that he cherished and they returned their admiration in kind by visiting him until the end.  His sense of humour endeared him to everyone and for that we have all been privileged and blessed to have known him.  To all who knew him, his love of food, the cottage, food, family, food, craft beer, food, the Simpsons, food AC/DC and food set him apart from everyone. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at the Blind River Community Centre from 1400-1600 and 1900-2100. The service will be held Wednesday, September 14th at 1130 from the Blind River Community Centre with interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery Blind River. Memorial contributions to the Blind River Food Bank or the ALS Society would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be made at www.elliotlakefuneralchapel.com.
