It is with great sorrow that the family of Kenneth Hicks announces his sudden passing at the age of 48 years, on May 25th 2025.
Ken leaves behind his loving wife of 24 years Pamela, his daughter Emily and partner Kurtis, his son Tyler and partner Emma, and his grand-daughter Maeve. Ken is survived by his beloved mother Heather Hicks, sister Cathy Hicks and uncle Gilbert Gordon. Predeceased by his father, Darwin Hicks in 2024. Ken was a loving son in law to William Mckeachnie and Terttu Mckeachnie (predeceased 2012), and brother in-law to Alan (Monica), Christine, and Monette. Ken was loved by many nieces and nephews, notable friends and extended family.
Ken was an avid fisherman, hunter and camper, spending his time with his friends and family. His happy place was at his camp on Bright Lake with a beer in hand having a sauna and a good fire afterwards. Growing up in Sault Ste Marie and then moving to Sudbury so he could work in the mining industry with KGHM and Vale, Ken always made sure to keep his connections to the Sault and Thessalon areas; where camp and family are.
Ken was loved an immeasurable amount and will be missed by his family and friends. His memory and stories will live on through his wife, children and grandchildren, where no one will forget what an incredibly loyal, fiercely stubborn and hardworking man he was. The family would like to thank Paramedics, Health Sciences North Emergency Department and staff, the Cardiovascular ICU staff and a special thank you to Nurse David A. from the ICU for your compassion and comfort to the family through a difficult time.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 4691 R.R 15, Chelmsford, on Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 11:00 to 4:00 p.m. Donations by cheque or online to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
