Terrance ‘Terry’ Lisle Hodnett was born September 4th, 1949, in Montreal, Quebec and was lovingly adopted by Winefred Elizabeth Hodnett (nee Firth) and Lisle Terrance Hodnett. Terry passed away on Sunday, March 30th, 2025, into the arms of his Lord and Saviour and reunited with his wife of 23 years, Eine Inkeri 'Ingrid' Hodnett (nee Tanninen).
Graduating from Hudson High School in Montreal, Terry went on to work a dedicated 38-year career at Algoma Steel, where he was respected for his skill as a millwright and operator and fondly remembered for his gruffly warm personality.
At 75 years old, Terry lived a rich and blessed life with Ingrid where he found a home in the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church and among many friends along Haviland Shores Drive in Goulais River, Ontario. There, he served as both a road commissioner and a good neighbour who could often be found working and welding for family and friends—the "Terry Touch"—meticulous cuts, pristine welds, and work done with a love of the trade and the people he was doing the work for.
Terry leaves behind a large extended family through marriage and friendship who carry in their hearts the memories of coffee, conversations, that short chuckle, and the easy company of a good friend.
Family and friends are invited to gather for Terry's wake at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in Sault Ste. Marie on Friday, April 4th from 6-8 pm. Terry's funeral will be held at the Church on Saturday, April 5th, at 1 pm. His graveside service will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to ARCH, where his wife Ingrid passed, or the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
