It is with great sadness, the family of Herbert Artur Huber announces his peaceful passing after a courageous battle with cancer, on Thursday April 17, 2025.
Herb was born on December 24, 1956, in Pembroke, Ontario. He is survived by his parents and three sisters. On May 2, 1981, Herb married the love of his life and his best friend Linda. Together they welcomed two amazing sons, Matthew (Pina) and Scott (Kaitlyn), and then welcomed four beautiful grandchildren. Herb was lovingly known as "Opi" to Lyla, Lilliana, Maverick and Olivia, and a special "Opi" to Luca.
Herb dedicated 35 years working in the paper mill in the Soo until he retired. He also loved to read and enjoyed the outdoors, whether it be fishing, biking or hiking. However, his passion was cooking for his family and friends.
He will forever be remembered by his parents Esther and Artur Huber and sisters Dagmar Scholten (late Richard), Doris Christensen (Niels), and Helen Pereira (Fern). He was pre-deceased by his in-Laws Ralph and Charity Neveau. He will also be remembered by his in-laws, Debbie Eisan (Dave) Joanne Koehler (Manfred), Ed Neveau (late Madeline), Cathy Connor (Don) and Conrad Neveau (Nadine). Herb leaves behind his nieces and nephews: Dawn (Adam), Diane (Rich), Eric, Evan (Andrea), Emily (Matthew), James (Jessie), Rachell, Cathy (Terry), Diana (Glen), Mark (Stephanie), Bradley, Ben (Sam), Nick, Sarah (Jessie) and Chris as well as many great nieces and nephews.
He will be sadly missed by his close and special friends Steve Huntenburg, Lori Surrna, and Donna and Denis Cesarin.
