Called out of our midst at the blessed age of 90 years on Wednesday, February 3, 2016. Beloved husband of Myna Huizing for 64 years. Son of the late Christiaan Cornelis Huizing and the late Anne Marie (nee DeGraaff) Huizing, Dear father and father in law of the late Cris Huizing (Deanna), Mary Robb (Donald), Nick Huizing (Nancy), Gary Huizing (Mary Jane) and Cynthia Huizing. Opa of Gerry (Jasmine), Nicole (Kirk), Katrina (Chris), Heidi and David, Karey (Randy) and Melissa, Ryan (Sandra), Aaron (Angela), Meghan (Eric) and Kristen (Matt). Great Opa of 9 great grandchildren. Predeceased in the Netherlands by his brother the late Gerardus Huizing (late Catherine), and his sister the late Anna Hekker-Huizing (late Hank). Survived in the Netherlands by one nephew Chris Huizing and his wife Marja and children Nicole (Geert) and Monique and by one niece Dr. Annemiek Kraanen-Huizing and her husband Dr. Michael Kraanen and their children Emma, Simon and Irene. Will also be very much missed by the extended Buis family in Southern, Ontario. Gerry was the owner, operator of Gerry’s Gas Service for 25 years. In his retirement years he will be remembered as an avid woodworker and all over handyman, but especially as a great husband and father.
