Peacefully passed away with his family by his side on Thursday, November 26, 2020 at the age of 81. Devoted husband and best friend of Raffaelina for 57 years. Proud father of Anna (Ed), Robert (Michelle), Dennis (Kim) and Nello (Melissa). Loving Nonno of Daniel (Kana), Carly, Christina (Francesco), Katrina, Blake, Joshua, Bryanna, and Erica. Proud Bisnonno of Luna. Son of the late Vincenzo Iannelli and late Tommasina Evangelista. Brother of Caterina (Pasquale), the late Lucia and Sylvia (Isidoro). Son-in-law of the late Pietro Zazzarino and late Angelina Caporaso. Gaetano will be lovingly remembered and missed by his many nieces and nephews, along with what he fondly refers to as his many “adopted sons and daughters”. Arriving in Canada from Alife, Caserta in 1956 he began his lengthy career as a bodyman. Guys Auto Body, his legacy just finished celebrating 40 years in business. “Guy” will always be remembered for his love of life and family, his dedicated work ethic and enthusiastic “story telling”.
Friends and family are invited to a public visitation at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758) on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. Due to the current pandemic there is a maximum attendance restriction of 40 attendees in the Funeral Home at one time. Mandatory for everyone is the use of hand sanitizer, masks or face coverings and physical distancing of 2 meters unless members of the same household. Due to attendance restrictions a private family mass will be held by invitation only. If you wish to attend the Graveside Service and Entombment you are invited to arrive at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. and park in procession, please remain in your vehicles upon arrival.
Memorial donations to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation Cancer Care Fund or Critical Care Fund (ICU), would be greatly appreciated. We would like to thank the exceptional Doctors and Nurses in the ICU that helped our family through a difficult time.
