Passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at the age of 95.
Born in Rovaniemi, Finland. Loving mother of Reijo (Tarja). Wonderful mummi to Matias, Minttu (John), Joonas & Viliam. Survived by sisters Rauha Lehti, Raili Ikonen and family in Finland .
Salli was most loving and fun. Her hospitality toward others was boundless. Her best times were at her camp on Desbarats Lake surrounded by her family, where she loved to spoil them. Baking and knitting were her hobbies and Salli was very involved with the Lady’s Auxiliary at the Finnish Resthome. She was a good friend to many and will be deeply missed.
As per the family’s wishes there will be no funeral service. Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street E. 705-759-2522). Memorial contributions (payable online or by cheque) to the Ontario Finnish Resthome would be appreciated by the family.
