98 years old, passed away Wednesday morning, May 19, 2004 at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie. Beloved husband of Julia (Akerberg) Kangas predeceased 1967. Loving father of Rev. Bea Arnill of Barrie and Nancy Miller (husband Doug) of Sault Ste. Marie. Dear father-in-law of Rev. Murray. Cherished grandfather of Catherine (Francis), Tim (Helen), Alison, Barbara (Rob), Brad (Holly), Greg, Rev. Mark and 16 great grandchildren. Sadly missed by family in Hamilton and Finland. Born in Finland he worked as a Miner at Inco for 39 years, retiring in 1970. Erik lived a full and active, independent life. He enjoyed spending time at his camp on Lake Penage. The center of Erick’s life was always his love of family. Funeral Service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Saturday, May 22, 2004 at 11:30 a.m. Interment in the Parklawn Cemetery.
