It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Elsi passed away unexpectedly at the young age of 67. Beloved wife of the late Jari. Loving and devoted mother of Heidi and Hannu (Meagan). Proud Mummu of her two amazing granddaughters, Ava and Tiia, who she absolutely adored and devoted her everything to. Daughter of the late Pentti and Alli Hynna. Daughter-in-law of the late Leo and Anna Keranen. She leaves behind her siblings, late Tapani (Phyllis) and Anna-Mari (late Jarmo). Sister-in-law of Juha (Veronica), Marjo (Mikko), Sami (Margit), Pasi (Mirja) and Danny (Lisa). She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews: Shauna, Stacey and Lisa (George), Markku, Melissa (Nello), Mika (Maija), David (Tanya), Jessica, Petri (Jenny), Tina (Luke), Aaron, Nathan, Seija, and Leo. Great Auntie to many nieces and nephews. Her grand dogs Rio and Ukko will miss her unconditional love.
Elsi was a dedicated employee for over 30 years at the Ontario Finnish Rest Home where she developed many lifelong friendships and cared very deeply for the residents. She always brought a smile to everyone and kept all her coworkers entertained with her humour.
Always there to give a helping hand and always there to listen. She will be missed by everyone that knew her especially her family and close friends (Margaret, Jeannie, Pirjo, Cathy and Ruth-Ann to name just a few).
Elsi enjoyed a good time and was always the life of the party. She appreciated the beauty of life through her grandchildren, and any opportunity to be with her extended family and friends. She loved the simple things in life like flowers, music, laughter and jokes. She would want you to celebrate all the good times, so please remember her with love and laughter.
Family and friends are invited to O’Sullivan Funeral Home on Friday June 14, 2024, from 3:00pm-6:00pm. A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank the first responders for their compassion and kindness at this difficult time.
She would want you to donate to the most meaningful charity/organization of your choice and plant a flower in her honour.
