It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of Anne Klewchuk, at the age of 82, on Saturday May 24, 2025, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Born on June 6, 1942, to Louise and Ignis Stubinsky in South Porcupine, Ontario.
Anne attended nursing school at the University of Western Ontario, completing her Master of Nursing Sciences at the Whitby Hospital School of Nursing. She accepted work as a nurse, and later as an instructor in the field.
She married Eugene Klewchuk on August 5, 1966, and together they had two children, Lara Guttman (David) and Leah Klewchuk.
In her youth, Anne enjoyed fishing with her brother Lloyd and her Uncle Walter.
An avid reader, she would search for books to expand her collection, always sharing her favourite stories with loved ones. Sewing, knitting, crocheting, and watching hockey provided different avenues to spend time with family. Some of her proudest moments were spent with her grandchildren, sharing with them delightful stories, songs, cuisine, baking, and crafts. How touching it was to see her take pleasure in their accomplishments and growth, and Anne’s kindness of spirit was evident in everything she did, leaving only fond memories. She always had been a relentlessly caring and loving soul. She often took the time to call her grandchildren, taking a deep interest in their accomplishments and needs; and wishing to get to know them during the various stages of their lives. She devotedly sent books, cards, trinkets, toys, and treasures to feed their various interests, hopes and dreams. The boundless support and encouragement she provided to support the decisions, goals, and triumphs of her grandchildren has had a tremendous influence on their lives and will never be forgotten.
Anne is survived by her husband of 58 years, Eugene; her children Lara and Leah, her grandchildren Aliya, Noah, and Judah; her uncle Walter Tonelli, as well as her many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her mother Louise, her father Ignis, and her brother, Lloyd Stubinsky.
As per Anne’s wishes, she was cremated. A Celebration of Life will take place in the summer.
