It is with great sorrow that the family announce the passing of a cherished father, loving grandfather and great-grandfather on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, ten days short of his 90th year.
Cyril was the pillar of his family and provided the best example of what hard work and dedication to your family can achieve. He worked his entire life as a hunting and fishing guide, oil heating technician, volunteer firefighter, working foreman for Noranda Mines, and as a maintenance supervisor for the Superior Greenstone Public School Board. He had 25 years of retirement that was filled with family, vacations and great grand-children.
Some of his favourite things included country music (the louder the better), campfires, fresh tomatoes (by the basket full) 4X4 rides, snowmobile rides, and hanging out with his daughters, grandchildren and his great-grandkids.
Beloved husband of Betty Ann Lacroix (nee James). Cherished father of Kim Lacroix, Tammy Ibey (John), and Denise Hogue. Loving grandfather of Ashley Courtney (Joshua), and Tyler Gillespie (Melanie).
Great-grandfather of Charli, Parker, Tristen and Madison. Brother of late Bobby (Louise), Laurette (late Lauriat), Yvette (Peter), and Yvonne (Paul). Brother-in-law of Diane (late Larry), late Shirley (Fernando), and the late Brenda. Predeceased by his parents Joe and Simone Lacroix. Cyril will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family and friends are invited to visit the Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East, 705-759-2522) on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 from 11am until 12:30pm. Funeral service to follow at 1pm with Rev. Jeff Shannon officiating. Internment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial contributions payable by cheque or online to the Alzheimer’s Society, or Wilson Memorial General Hospital’s Closer to Home Campaign would be appreciated by the family. Fond memories and expressions of symphony may be offered at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Lacroix family.
“I remember daddy's hands workin' 'til they bled
Sacrificed unselfishly just to keep us all fed
If I could do things over, I'd live my life again
And never take for granted the love in daddy's hands”
Holly Dunn song lyrics
