Mike succumbed to his long and courageous battle with his heart condition on Monday, August 8, 2016 at the age of 81.  Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Aime.  Dear father of Irene (Allen), Peter and Katherine. Grandfather of Stephanie, Lindsay, Kevin, Anton and Ryan.  Great-grandfather of Everett, Roland and Nell.  Predeceased by his parents Ilza and Peter, his siblings Mirdza Studens and John Laipneks. Uncle to Rita, John and Sandra, Mark, Anita and Erik. A Celebration of Life will be held at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Friday, August 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
