LATIMER, Eric Blackwell (Ric)

Passed away peacefully surrounded by the warmth and love of his family on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Innisfree House, Kitchener. Ric was born 91 years ago in Toronto, Ontario and was the son of the late George and Alice (Armstrong) Latimer.

Beloved husband of Jan Latimer whom he married on June 10, 2000 and predeceased by his first wife Evelyn. Forever missed by his children; Paul (Laura) Latimer of Waterloo and Gail Latimer (Ed) of Markham.  Cherished grandfather to Allison (Adam) Parsons and Corin Latimer.  Great-grandfather to Graham Parsons. Ric will be dearly missed by Jans’ children; Linda (George), Debbie (Jeff), Sherry, Colleen (Eric), step children; Debbie (Greg), Randy (Heather) and special nephew Calvin (Mary).  Ric was a special grandfather and great-grandfather to many.  Ric is survived by his sister Ruth (Peter) Douse as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.  Predeceased by brothers George and Arthur Latimer and sister Dorothy Parkes.

Ric was a successful business man and operated his own roofing company for many years. Once in retirement Ric was very active in both the Village by the Arboretum, Guelph and then in Stonecroft, New Hamburg.  Ric had a passion for billiards and was instrumental in starting a billiards club in the Stonecroft Community.  He loved to travel and has travelled the world.

Cremation has taken place.  A memorial visitation will take place at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 5 – 8 p.m.  A service of remembrance will take place on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Zion United Church, New Hamburg at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Tim Graham officiating. Interment to follow in Riverside Cemetery.
