It's with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Gerald (Gerry) Martin Loxton who passed away peacefully at the age of 81, at Sault Area Hospital, May 18, 2025, with his family by his side. He was born in Hull, Quebec to the late Ken and late Emily Loxton.

Beloved husband of Donna (nee Linington) for nearly 58 years. Loving father of Dawn Thorne (Stewart), Ron Loxton (Christine), and the late Sherry Loxton. Caring Grandfather of Lynn (Jerry), Matthew (Liz), Sarah (Evan). Great grandfather of Lillian, Rosana, Alice and Jo.

Dear brother of Bryan Loxton (late wife Joan and partner Gerri), Marlene "Muzz" Sanders (Geoff). Brother-in-law to Susan Barlow (late Keith), late Dianne Batt (Fred). Predeceased by his in-laws Dorothy and Orville Linington. He will also be lovingly remembered by his 7 nieces and nephews.

Gerald worked hard at Algoma Steel for 35 years to support his wife and 3 children. He was a caring and curious man who showed a genuine interest in what was happening in your life and engaging conversations could go on for hours. He was an avid fisherman and pursued many hobbies throughout his life including woodworking, boating, gardening and he even tried his hand at glassblowing, his creations will be forever cherished. He took pride in his woodworking skills, and they were especially evident in the remodel of his home and the building of his camp on St. Joe's Island. He loved his camp and anyone who spent time with him there has great stories to tell. He was always up for an adventure and Donna was usually by his side. He spent many summers at the cottage with his brother and father solving the world's problems at the Annual Loxton Summit. His grandchildren have fond memories of their camp visits, and his annual fireworks display was enjoyed by all.

Prior to his passing, he was agreeable to selling their lifelong home and camp so he and Donna could enjoy a comfortable life together in a retirement residence where Donna will continue safe and comfortable.

Gerald will be cremated and there will be no service as per his wishes.

Memorial donations to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation or the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.

A special thank you to the wonderful staff at Collegiate Heights, Dr Fera and the Sault Area Hospital staff who lovingly cared for him.
