It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jeffrey (Jeff) in his 57th year, at the Prince George Rotary Hospice House, City of Prince George, BC.
Jeff was born on July 8th,1968, to John(Jack) and Iris Mackenzie. He grew up in Espanola, ON where he attended school. Spending many weekends and summers in Bruce Mine, ON Jeff met his wife Sandra Rickard. They became proud parents of Geraldine and Hilary and spent 22 years together with Jeff working at several places in and around Bruce Mines. He was very proud of his job at the local Arena, where he also enjoyed playing the "odd" hockey game with his friends. Jeff stayed in Bruce Mines raising his beloved girls, Geraldine and Hilary until the year 2014.He then moved to the Tsay Keh Dene Nation reserve for what became his final chapter of his life, with his subsequent partner Charity Whyte. Jeff went back to school, becoming a Red Seal Carpenter where upon receiving his certification, he and Charity went on to build homes for their small community of 522 people. He was well respected by the people of his reserve community. He enjoyed a beautiful and simple life, having the great outdoors in his backyard. He especially loved fishing, hunting and berry picking. Jeff was a diehard fan of the Montreal Canadians and cheered them on up to the very last day before his passing.
