Passed peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and 7 children on Monday, November 28th, 2016 at the age of 71. Survived by his wife Judith, children Cory (Tammy), Matthew, Bridget Heimonen (Harri), Jared, Sarah Casella (Michael), Luke (Kozue), Joseph (Jessica), 23 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and his brother Douglas (Georgina).
Gordon served valiantly in all of his many callings in life as a Physician, a volunteer with Scouting, Special Olympics, School Boards and Community Living Algoma. Within his Church as a Bishop, District President, Stake President and Temple President, but none more important to him than his calling as a Husband and Father. He will be loved and missed by the thousands of people whose lives he touched.
Gordon had a passion for family history, choir, gardening, camping, kayaking, swimming, tennis, squash, pickleball, Tai Chi, woodworking, reading, traveling and playing games with family and friends.
Friends may visit at the Brampton Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 10062 Bramalea Road, Brampton on Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 11 – 1:00pm. Funeral service to follow at 2pm. The service is also planned to be broadcast live to LDS Chapels in Sault Ste Marie, Dartmouth and Bridgewater Nova Scotia.
