We regret to announce the death of Tom of Sault Ste. Marie on Friday, March 28, 2025, in St. Augustine, Florida, at the age of 85.

Tom was a loving father of the late Laura Majic who also recently passed away last November, and loving husband of the late Peggy Majic of Sault Ste. Marie. Tom will be sadly missed by his brothers and sisters, the late George (Anne), Sam (Charlotte d.), Stella, Angela, and John Majic (Judy d.), and Shirley Graham (Len), and siblings-in-law, Nancy, Sharon and Frank Pleich. Tom was very proud of his many nieces, nephews and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.

Tom worked for 35 years at Algoma Steel, most notably as a general foreman in the Cold Mill. He was also proudly enlisted with the 49th Field Artillery Regiment of Sault Ste. Marie for at least 35 years, where he spent much of that time as a Regimental Sargeant Major. Both positions at Algoma Steel and in the 49th Regiment, suited his style and penchant for stellar organizational abilities. He loved his family, both immediate and extended. The Majic Family Reunion will not be the same without him there pointing out the finer techniques for roasting a whole lamb.

With his friends, Tom loved to share adventures in travelling, scuba diving, fishing at a lake, boating, dining out, and getting together to share a meal or a drink, or both.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations to any charity of your choice would be appreciated. Arrangements are entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley (492 Wellington St. East, 705-759-2522).
