Passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, at home on Friday, March 28, 2025 at the age of 94. He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Alice. Cherished father of David (Mary Ellen), Denise Hribar (Dave) and Dale (Melanie). Loving Grandpéré of Kaitlyn (Chris), Amber, Nicole (Kevin), Natalie (Tiimo) and Dayton (Emma). Great Grandpéré of Brody, Coen, Isabella, Nadia, Elijah, Mikaa, Lukren and Olasha. Son of the late Cyr and the late Olive Malboeuf. Predeceased by his siblings Omer Malboeuf (late Claire), Cyril Malboeuf (late June), Oliver Malboeuf, Diane (late Gordon), Freda (late August) and Loretta (late Harry). Son-in-law of the late William and the late Rose Yurechuk. Brother-in-law of the late Nina Yurechuk, late Walter Yurechuk (Celine) and the late Arthur Yurechuk (Velma). Special friend of the late Doris Becks. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.
Leonard was a man of deep faith in Jesus Christ, he lived his life with love and compassion. He was passionate about carpentry, creating lasting, beautiful pieces that showcased his skill and dedication. A lover of the outdoors, Leonard spent countless hours hunting moose and fishing, finding joy in the wilderness. For many years, up until two weeks ago, Leonard enjoyed attending Jam Nights at the Moose Lodge, where he loved listening to the tunes with friends. He also cared for raspberry bushes, sharing the fruit with those around him. After retirement, Leonard drove the para-bus for AJ Busline for 25 years, providing dependable service with kindness and compassion to those in need.
Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758) on Thursday, April 3, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Ken Straight officiating. Interment at New Greenwood Cemetery.
