1939 - 2025

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Ross Arden Manary, who passed away peacefully at the age of 85 on Thursday, January 9, 2025.

Ross was born on July 23,1939 in South Porcupine to Osbert and Violet Manary. He was raised in North Bay, where he met the love of his life, Violet (nee Lenfesty), in 1959. They married on December 23, 1961, and soon after, made their home in Sault Ste. Marie, where they began their family.

Together, Ross and Violet built a life full of love, laughter, and hard work. They were blessed with four children: Doug (married to Jennifer, with grandsons Benjamin and Nathan), Wendy (married to Gordan Noll, with grandchildren Brianna [Brandon] and Joshua), Jeffrey (married to Kathy, with grandchildren Alanna and Dylan), and Steven (married to Christa, with grandchildren Lauren and Kesi [Donovan].)

Ross’s legacy continues to grow with the arrival of his great-grandchild, Winter, the son of Kesi as well as Kesi’s step-daughter Arielle. Ross was a man of many passions, with a special love for animals and a deep commitment to family. He raised his children and grandchildren with unwavering love and taught them the value of hard work, kindness, and the beauty of life on the farm. He shared with them not just his wisdom, but his immense love for nature, animals, and the simple joys of life. His farm became a cherished sanctuary, where memories were made, and lessons were learned. Ross was also a dedicated brother to his sister Diane (married to Bruce), with whom he shared a bond that spanned a lifetime.

His love for his family, his generosity, and his gentle spirit will be forever remembered. He was a man who could always be counted on for a smile, a helping hand, and a kind word. Ross leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and warmth that will live on in the hearts of his family. His presence in their lives was a gift that will continue to bring comfort, even in his absence.

Ross was preceded in death by his parents, Osbert and Violet, and leaves behind a family who will carry his memory forward with love and pride. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude for the care and support provided by the Bay Shore Care team. They would also like to thank their dear family friend Becky Thomas, who was there to support during his transition. A celebration of Ross’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made (cheque or online) to Sault Area Hospital Foundation or to the MS Canada/Ontario Division in Ross’s memory. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East, 705-759-2522).

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the family. May his soul rest in peace, and may his legacy live on forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
