After a valiant battle against Covid-19, Mark and Amanda McAuley wish to announce the passing of Frank Andrew McAuley, at the Extendicare Mapleview on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at the age of 92. Frank is now at peace and reunited with his wife, Ann. Frank is predeceased by his parents Albina and Tom as well as his siblings: Web, Alfred, Tom, Theresa, Rita, Monica, Abbey, Margaret and Mary. He is also predeceased by his best chums, Andy Lucas and Peter Martinsen. What a reunion this must be!

Frank was an expert canoeist, notable prospector and meticulous log scaler and draftsman. He also caught a few fish in his time! Frank worked for the Algoma Central Railway and Algoma Steel for most of his days. In 1954, Frank found his happy place at Devils Lake, and never tired of the view. A fireworks display will take place out at Devils Lake at a later date to honour the memory of the last of the first generation of campers on Devils Lake.

Thank you to all our friends and family especially Pat and Betty Courneene for all their support during Frank’s golden years. Another thank you to the staff at Mapleview, Goulais Bay unit.

When remembering Frank, please hoist a rum and coke or plant a tree.

Frank would like that.
