McEACHERN, Donald Lloyd

It is with sorrow and deep regret that I announce the death of my beloved husband Don on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at the age of 94.  Cherished husband for over 68 years to Betty.  Father of Christine (Doug) and Donald (Joyce).  Grandfather of Steven Shier (Jill), late Elizabeth Shier, Stephanie Campbell (James), Kevin McEachern (Melanie), Lauren McEachern (Nick) and Paul McEachern.  Proud great grandfather of Owen Shier, Ella, Theia and Sawyer Campbell and Betty Bea Marleau.  Son of the late George and Belle McEachern.  Brother of Shirley Voorhees (late Arthur), Alice O’Neill and predeceased by Glen McEachern.  Don was employed by Algoma Steel for 42 years, retiring as Vice President of Sales and Marketing.  He served in the Canadian Armed Forces – The 12th Manitoba Dragoons through France, Belgium, Holland and Germany from 1942 – 1946.  A Memorial Service will take place at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 1 pm.  Mr. Gene Monin officiating. Interment at St. Luke’s Columbarium.  Memorial contributions to St. Andrew’s United, Doctors Without Borders or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.  I would like to thank the many kind and compassionate people, We Care, Rivera, SAH, Maple View who cared for Don throughout his long illness.
