Unexpectedly in his home on Wednesday, January 25, 2017. Devoted and loved son of Samuel McLorn and the late Faith McLorn. Loving and supportive brother of Angus McLorn, Edith McLorn and Josephine Symes (Peter). Loving uncle of Emily McLorn, Bryony Symes, Jennifer Symes. Much loved and special friend of Theresa Neveu and Melissa Simard. Jim will also be remembered by his friends, former colleagues and neighbours. Jim graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Anthropology. Jim enjoyed his 23 year career as a Federal Parole Officer with the Correctional Service of Canada until the time of his retirement 8 years ago. Jim went above and beyond in his job to make a difference in many people’s lives. During his stellar career, Jim received many awards and accolades for his many achievements. Jim was a world traveler and was lucky enough to visit many wonderful and beautiful places in the world. Those who were close to Jim were lucky enough to relive those wonderful memories through his amazing stories. Jim was an avid reader and loved books, music, movies and games. His laugh and sense of humour were second to none and will be so missed. Thank you to the Canadian Red Cross, WeCare, and CCAC for the care and services provided to Jim in the last few years of his life. Gone far too soon, but never forgotten and always loved. A Come and Go Celebration of Jim’s life will take place at his home on Sunday, February 5, 2017 from 2-5pm. Memorial contributions to the Salvation Army would be appreciated.
