As most people wind their way through life, they will at times find themselves on some rocky roads.
Blake Millroy, in his near 66 years, found himself on quite a few of them.
But somehow, he always managed to forge ahead, accepting those rocky patches without complaint and coming out of them with his soul and sense of purpose intact.
I may be down for a bit but I am not out, seemingly was his motto.
This part of his journey through life made him acutely aware of the plight of others and no matter his own circumstances, he was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need, furry friends included.
But now there will be no more rocky roads ahead, no more helping hand to give.
Blake is at peace.
He died suddenly on an undetermined day last week.
He is survived by his wife, Linda, son, Blake Jr. (Sarah), his father, Doug Millroy, his mother, Thora Millroy, and siblings Sandy Millroy (Donna), Charles-Anne Wardlaw (Greg), and Chris Millroy (Lisa), an unfillable hole being left in their lives. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his stepmother, Barbara Millroy.
No memorial service will be held and cremation has taken place. The family will hold a private celebration of life at a later date.
Memorial donations to St. Vincent Place or the Sault Ste. Marie and District Humane Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
