It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Novella Montesi who peacefully passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025 with her daughters by her side at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice.
She is now reunited with her loving husband, Benito Augusto whom she missed every day for the past 13 years. We were blessed to celebrate her 86th birthday with her on January 25th where we honoured and cherished this beautiful soul, knowing it would be her last. Novella was the devoted mother of David (Anna), Marina, Patricia, Carla (Matt), and Anna Maria. A loving Nonna of Brittany, Maggie, Emma (Joel), Sophie (Steve) and Dean (Emilie). She was also a proud Bis Nonna of Zara. Born in Urbino, Italy, Novella was predeceased by her parents, Maggiorino and Maria Lettizi. She is survived by her only sibling, Virgilio Lettizi of Urbino, Italy.
Our mother embodied grace, strength, and resilience throughout her life. She was truly the pillar of our family and her loss is deeply felt by all that knew her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and strength will live on in our hearts forever. Her grandchildren were especially dear to her and they will always remember her affection, wisdom and the way she inspired them.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the caring Nurses on 3A and 2C at the Sault Area Hospital who made her journey a little easier.
In keeping with Novella’s wishes, a private family service was held on Friday, February 28, 2025 at Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel with entombment at Holy Sepulchre Mausoleum. Memorial donations (payable by cheque or online) to A.R.C.H. where she received exceptional care would be appreciated by the family.
