(May 22, 1995 — May 26, 2017) - Our hearts are broken. Our Owen left us on Friday, May 26 in Kelowna, BC. Owen's amazing, ever-present smile masked a deeper sadness. We will forever miss his beautiful eyes and flowing hair, his generosity, his kind and welcoming heart, his sensitive soul, his passionate approach to life, and his love for family and friends. Owen was never afraid of new experiences. He sought out epic adventures and fun times, never hesitating to invite others to join in. His ability to find his friends wherever he went was unparalleled. He was rarely far from a guitar. He was a talented musician who lived for writing, playing, and recording music, and if this involved his buddies, all the better. He was so proud that he had just become an Audio Engineer and was busy working in the industry. Owen was doing what he loved. He had a vibrant soul that made an impact on people the world over. He was, and always will be, loved immensely by his parents, Betty and Randy; siblings Ryan, Kelly, and Sarah; Grandpa Al (Moore), Auntie Barb (Ralph) Klein, Auntie Karen (Rob) Sartoretto, Sault Ste Marie; Uncle Bruce (Maureen) Stoskopf, Milton; his cousins; and so very, very many friends in Calgary, Kelowna, Vancouver, Luxembourg, and well beyond. Please join in a Celebration of Owen's far-too-short, but jam-packed life at Eden Brook Funeral Home on Saturday June 3, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. Something good needs to come of this tragedy. Donations may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association (www.cmha.ca).
“I got a rambler’s heart
I got a roaming soul
I got a heart that bleeds
in the desert storm
I got a soul that sings all these
broken hearted cowboy songs”
