MOREAU, Wayne Frederick

(March 7, 1950 – February 19, 2016) – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Wayne in his 66th year at the Sault Area Hospital surrounded by his family and loved ones. Predeceased by his loving wife and soul mate Yvonne. Eldest son of the late Fred and Nellie Moreau. Wayne leaves behind his siblings, Pat Stead (late Geoff), Wendy Ross (Mike), and Gerrie (Elida). Special friend of Nancy Lefave. Treasured son-in-law to the late Yvette Laberge. Brother-in-law to the late Ted Laberge (late Lynn), Carmel Masters (late Wes), Rose Laberge (late Fred), Barbara Byers (late Todd) and his dear friend and golf buddy, John (Yoshi) Laberge. He is the admired and respected uncle of many nieces and nephews. Wayne will be sorely missed by his dear friends Steph Joly (Angel), Brenda Mitchell and his furry friend Sadie. Heartfelt gratitude goes out to Dr. Fritz and Dr. Rassouli and all the SAH staff that cared for Wayne during his journey. The family would also like to thank his compassionate and caring nurses, Paula, Donna Rae and Pressy whose consistent quality care gave him hope and courage to carry on. Wayne will be remembered for his honesty, integrity, strength, sense of humour and caring nature by his many friends as well as his golf buddies at Root River Golf Club. In keeping with Wayne’s wishes, cremation has already taken place and a private memorial service will be held in the spring. Friends are invited to a celebration of life at the Root River Golf Club on Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 1 until 4pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Sault Area Hospital Cancer Care Clinic or to the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.
