With heavy hearts, the family of Duncan William Murphy announce the passing of our beloved dad on October 8th, 2022. He is now at peace and dancing with the love of his life, our mom Pauline. Born December 13th, 1931 and raised in Iron Bridge, he lived in Elliot Lake since 1962. He will be deeply missed by his four children Stephen (Nancy), Wendy (Neil), Janice (Bryan), Shane (Suzanne), 7 grandchildren; Holly, Emily, Connor, Caitlin, Jade, Stephanie and Nathaniel, his brother Calvin (Maryanne) his SIL Mitzie (John deceased), his nieces, nephews, and many close friends. He is predeceased by his wife Pauline and his sister Bertha (Garney). Our 7 furry friends will miss his attention and cuddles. Dunc was a husband, father, grandpa, uncle and friend. He loved life and always had a sparkle in his eye! He was passionate about the outdoors and all it had to offer including fishing, hunting, and sledding. He was an exceptional curler having Skipped his team to two victories at the western zone and many bonspiels. Additionally, he contributed as the president of the Elliot Lake curling club. His greatest contribution to the community , to his friends and family was his love of music and his claim that there were two types of music: Country and Western. He loved to entertain at home and on stage as the lead singer and guitarist for his band “The Country Pride”. Over the years he volunteered to play music for seniors and at the Elliot Lake Legion Branch 561 of which he was an honorary member for many years. Dunc and Pauline created a home that was full of laughter and music which was open to everyone that stepped through the door.
