Our family is saddened to announce the passing of our Dad at the SAH on Saturday, October 20, 2018 in his 87th year, surrounded by his family and love.  Beloved husband of the late Faye Myers (Conway).  Adored and admired father of Gary (Cathie), Tim, Terry, Doug (Jamie) and Donna.  Most proud Poppa of Brianna (Josh), Colin, Corey (Jasmine), Jessica (Sam), Morgan (Justin), Patrick and Austin (Kendra).  Extremely proud and thrilled of his Great Grand Son Elliott (EJ).  Eric was the proud brother of the late Willard (Mabel), late Lillian, late Jack (Alma), Betts, Pauline, Dorinda, Frank (Glenda) and the late Jim (Barb).  Brother in Law of Cecilia Wyatt (late Fred) and Len Conway (Dan), predeceased by Fanelda, Jim, Pat, Pearl, Maime, Geraldine, Gerald, Anna, Michael, Raymond, Mildred and Luella.  Uncle of many nieces and nephews but exceptionally close to Sandra Lamming, Jackie Porpealia, Phillip Boychuck and Pam Wyatt.  Our dad was an amazing man, kind, happy and always showing a positive attitude.  He was a gifted artist with painting, woodworking and calligraphy; he also wrote two books one on his experience of having a stroke and one a fish cookbook showing his recipes and beautiful hand drawings.  In his healthier years Dad loved to travel, camp, golf, fish, cook and spend time with family and friends, the old Myers’s clan get togethers certainly were as the Myers theme song went “Wasn’t that a Party”.  Dad was always the life of the party, the happy go lucky guy we always admired him for that!  Seventeen years ago Dad suffered a serious stroke that would change his and our family’s life.  We were given very small odds that dad would survive or have any quality of life, ah but in our dad’s fashion he worked hard, stayed positive and got strong enough to come home.  Life was different but dad decided as he always said “I can neither run or fight…so I just smile” and smile he did, he loved life, no matter what obstacle was put in front of him he never gave up.   Not once did he say why me, not once did he get angry or frustrated he just tried and kept fighting and showing the great big smile.  There are so many people that we would like to thank from family and friends who visited, called, sent and received so many emails over the years.  The PSW’s who became more than workers they were always kind and compassionate making dad’s life comfortable.  Thank you to the staff at SAH especially the staff of 2A and 3C and to Dr. Bowen who helped our family so much.  Friends may visit at Arthur Funeral Home (492 Wellington Street East) on Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 11am until 2:30 pm.  Memorial service to follow in the chapel at 3 pm.  Reverend Ron Dempster officiating.  Memorial contributions to A.R.C.H or Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25 would be appreciated.

Dad we Love You and will miss you we still feel your smile.
