MYERS, Rodney (Rod)

Peacefully surrounded by his family at Extendicare Mapleview Nursing Home on Monday July 11, 2016 at the age of 83. Rod was a cherished and treasured human being and adoring husband of Joan Myers (nee Bowden) for 65 years. Loving father of Lynne, Rod Jr. (Helene) and the late Barry. Grandpa and Papa of Tiffany (Rick), Stephen (Heather), Chris (Amanda), Julie (Jimmy), Jocelynn, Jacob, John (Kristi), Jackie (Matt) and Jeff (Alison). Great Grandpa of Richard Jr., Leah, Kayden Danny, Connor, Alexa, Hannah, Preston, Ethan, Carter and Hudson.  Brother of Stewart (Barbara) and Jean (Bill). As per Rod’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or service. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Rod was a man who loved building cars and motors. He was blessed with a beautiful family and wonderful friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Mapleview Nursing Home, Tunnel Lake, for the extra special care given to Rod. As well as Denzil and Wanda Rathbone, Terry Brodie and Rod’s coffee buddies. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
